About Me

I’ve been a Realtor for over 40 years!

My real estate career started quite by “accident” at North Lake Tahoe.  In reaction to a year of frustration with Realtors in the area not being able to sell my property, I decided I would try to sell it myself.

And yes … I did sell the property!  During the process I realized that I really had a “knack” for negotiating and for thinking of creative ways to find buyers.  I further found that I enjoyed every aspect of the real estate business.

So, I put my chosen career, as a music teacher, aside and took a Real Estate Course.

I obtained my license and immediately went to work for Century 21, at North Lake Tahoe.  Within 7 months,  I became Office Manager of a small branch office located about 5 miles from the main office.

In 1980, we moved to Los Gatos and I went to work for Gatewood Realty.  I also began studying for my Broker’s exam.  (I got my Broker's License in 1982.)

In 1982, Mr. Gatewood sold his company to Fox and Carskadon.  I did not like all the new “politics” associated with working for a large company.  I wanted to be able to offer more personalized service to my clients.

So, I went searching for a new place to work.  I found 3 ladies that owned a company well known in Los Gatos for honest, ethical practices and wonderful customer service.  That company was Los Gatos Properties.

In 1982, I became part owner and Broker of Los Gatos Properties. I was with that office for 23 years, from 1982 to 2005.

In 2005, I once again felt the need to make a change in the structure of my real estate business.  I wanted to spend more time working with clients and less time dealing with office procedures.

In March of 2005, I started Sunup Properties.  I still offer all the same services as the larger companies.  But I believe my services are somewhat unique in that I provide personal care and attention to every detail of each transaction.  I pride myself in finding creative solutions to selling and purchasing problems.  And I offer extra help, outside the realm of normal real estate assistance, with all aspects of the marketing and selling process.  My motto is “whatever it takes”!!

And the best interest of my client always comes first.
